Fire things up then do a
ps aux | grep caed
in a terminal, or exit rdairplay, kill the daemons then do
caed -d
in a terminal, followed by starting rdairplay from another terminal,
caed -d will keep it in the forground and may print useful debug
messages.
I may not do this in another 2 hours, had to re-install everything Opensuse 10.2 and all.
What does your .asoundrc look like?
I am using the standard /etc/asound.conf
