Hi Tyler,
The symptoms you describe suggest that the files in /var/snd
are not available to RDAirplay for some reason (/var/snd is unmounted, or wrong
ownership?). RDAirplay will skip over any file it cannot play, hence the
race condition.

Subject: [RDD] RDAirplay wackiness
Hello again!
I have a problem that just started up with
RDAirplay. It seems that
loading up a log and pressing play on the
first item causes RDAirplay
to blow through the log without playing
anything. If there's a log
available to load next it'll load that
one too and blow right through
it the same way. It doesn't seem to
be a problem with caed, since caed
-d doesn't spit out any errors
while RDAirplay is having its problem.
Other programs like RDLibrary
and RDLogEdit don't have any problems
playing the
files.
Rebooting and other magic fixes don't seem to be helping in this
case.
Anybody have any ideas? I'm running the latest Rivendell from
Tryphon
sources and using JACK to play the
audio.
