I can tell you with certainty that many applications
will NOT work with 127.0.0.1 under about any circumstances,
while they work just fine with 127.0.0.2 even though both are
within the reserved 127 block, and exactly the same.
MySQL happens to be one of them, and is why the host name
of the machine must *never* be associated with 127.0.0.1.
Use the real non-localhost IP and they all work just fine.
